Cleansing and Charging Gemstones, Minerals and Crystals Cleansing is the process by which one ‘purifies’ the energy of a Gemstone or Mineral.Energy, both positive and negative, can be transferred through various methods; the most common is that of touch.Whenever you receive a new Gemstone or Mineral, remember it has been touched by countless people prior to coming into your possession.Through the mining, cutting, polishing, distribution, manufacturing and retailing of your pendulum others have touched the stones and components along the way.Residual energies from each of these people remains, their moods, emotions, intentions and thoughts have left a residue (positive or negative) on the Gemstone.Therefore it is best to cleanse your Gemstone and Mineral before using it.Remember to cleanse it from time to time, as it may pick up external energies (others touching it, etc) that may influence its energy. It is important to remember that Gemstones and Minerals natural environment is the earth. They gain, retain, transfer and rejuvinate their energy in this environment. In order for us to enjoy the energy they offer us, we remove them from their natural environment, thus cutting them off from their ability to recharge and gain additional energy. Those of us that believe and use the energy of Gemstones and Minerals for their beneficial energy, it is important to re-Charge the stones. In doing this they are able to continue to provide us with the unique energy they willing offer us. There are many methods used to cleanse, clear and recharge the energy of a Gemstone or Mineral (or any other objects).The methods, means and rituals involved will depend upon your social, spiritual and cultural belief systems.Being sensitive to these issues, I have briefly outlined 7 fairly generic methods of cleansing, clearing and charging Gemstones and Minerals for your convenience.
